Getting Started with Your Next Train Display
Setup takes about 2 minutes. Here's everything you need to know.
What's in the Box
— 1x Next Train LED Display in walnut frame — 1x USB-C power cable — 1x Power adapter — 1x Adhesive wall hook — 1x Quick setup card
Step 1: Plug In Your Display
Plug it in. The display will turn on and show "Connect to Next Train".
Step 2: Connect to WiFi
On your phone, go to your WiFi settings and connect to: NEXT TRAIN. No password needed.
Step 3: Setup Page Opens Automatically
A setup page will appear on your phone. If it doesn't, open your browser and go to 192.168.4.1
Step 4: Connect to Your Home WiFi
Select your home WiFi network and enter the password. Your display uses 2.4GHz WiFi only — make sure you're connecting to the 2.4GHz network. This is usually the one without "5G" in the name.
Step 5: Choose Your Train Line & Station
Select your subway line and the station you want to track. Tap Save & Start.
Step 6: Mount Your Display
Use the included adhesive hook to hang on any wall — no nails needed! You can also place it on a shelf, table, or countertop.
Changing Your Settings
Need to switch stations or update your WiFi? Visit: nexttrain.local to access settings at any time.
Troubleshooting
Display shows "Connecting..." — Make sure your WiFi password was entered correctly. — Confirm you're on a 2.4GHz network, not 5GHz. — Move the display closer to your router if signal is weak.
Display shows "No Service" — This usually means the MTA is not reporting arrivals for your station (common during late night or service disruptions). The display will update automatically when service resumes.
Display is blank or unresponsive — Try unplugging the power cable and plugging it back in. — Make sure you're using the included power adapter.
